About the role
- Design and art direct covers for a wide range of titles under the Harper imprints
- Work closely with senior art directors, editors, illustrators, photographers, and freelance designers
- Supervise design and manage all phases of design and production processes
- Handle projects/tasks assigned in a timely manner, being a trouble-shooter and problem solver
Requirements
- 7 years experience in publishing for the adult trade market
- Diverse design sensibility in both fiction (literary to fantasy) and non-fiction
- Strong typographic knowledge and skills
- Must be an independent and strong thinker
- Must be extremely well organized, able to manage many projects simultaneously
- Needs excellent communication, interpersonal and project management skills
- Strong Mac skills including AdobeCC, basic retouching and photo/image compositing
