Designer

• Perform electrical design for various projects at multiple plants within the company fleet (0 – 50 hours a week) for a year
• Ensure compliance with applicable company standards, industry codes, and project requirements
• Prepare, review, and update detailed electrical design drawings, including: • One-line diagrams • Elementary and control schematics • Wiring diagrams • Equipment layouts and installation details
• Develop and/or verify as-built documentation for projects implemented across the Southern Company fleet
• Interface with external parties on design models, drawings, and design
• Perform drawing transmittals for the Generation E&I Design department

Designer I

Engineer

• supervision and technical direction over a team of engineers and designers when functioning as a lead engineer

• Generally responsible for business development to improve organizational market position and achieve financial growth
• Works with Leaders to define long-term organizational strategic goals, build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close deals and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions
• Prospect for new clients by networking, cold calling and other means of generating interest from potential clients
• Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within client organization
• Research and build relationships with new clients
• Set up meetings between client decision makers and Hargrove Leaders

• Generally responsible for performing routine design of less complex engineering assignments using theoretical knowledge and practical design methods
• Assist in the design of larger and more complex electrical and instrumentation engineering assignments
• Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards
• Familiarity with project scope, specifications and design criteria upon assignment to a project task team
• On-site assistance during startup
• Produce installation details, motor control center single lines, electric room layouts, motor control elementaries, connection diagrams, cable schedules, control panel layouts and grounding, lighting, power and instrumentation plans under general supervision
• Developing conceptual layouts and cost studies as necessary to determine the simplest, most efficient approach to solving engineering tasks at hand

• Generally responsible for performing all aspects for complete designs of process engineering assignments
• Develop and implement project specific process design execution plans to ensure efficient and effective project execution
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including all engineering disciplines, project managers, operations, and procurement
• Participate in process safety design activities including PHAs, LOPAs, change management, and plant pre-startup safety planning
• Forecast, monitor, and report actual progress for process discipline activities, including management of labor hours and completion of deliverables
