About the role
- Connect bilingual and multilingual individuals with opportunities to serve as freelance interpreters or translators.
- Operate as a freelance interpreter in a 1099 Independent Contractor role.
- Provide language access services regardless of clients' English proficiency.
- Set your own availability and accept appointments based on your schedule.
- Perform interpreting (often in medical, legal, and educational settings) during appointments Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.
- Appointments are not guaranteed and are offered based on need.
- Interpreters start at $25 - $30 per hour, depending on availability, experience, and language demand.
Requirements
- Fluency in English and target language with a comprehensive understanding of idiomatic speech and cultural patterns.
- Previous interpreting experience, preferably in medical, legal, or educational settings.
- Demonstrated professionalism, punctuality, and adaptability in the workplace.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate basic communication
- Flexibility to work in different settings and adapt to various work environments.
- Must be located in and authorized to work in the US (We do not offer visa sponsorship).
- High School Diploma or equivalent; or certification in interpreting or related fields.
