About the role
- Provide in-person interpretation services in Thai and English to support language access.
- Operate as a freelance 1099 Independent Contractor, set availability and accept appointments based on schedule.
- Support appointments primarily Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm; appointments offered based on need.
- Interpret in varied settings (medical, legal, educational) and adapt to different work environments.
- Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and adaptability while working independently and as part of a team.
- Complete onboarding steps including preliminary interview, skills assessment, and background check if qualified.
Requirements
- Fluency in English and target language with a comprehensive understanding of idiomatic speech and cultural patterns.
- Previous interpreting experience, preferably in medical, legal, or educational settings.
- Demonstrated professionalism, punctuality, and adaptability in the workplace.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate basic communication
- Flexibility to work in different settings and adapt to various work environments.
- Must be located in and authorized to work in the US (We do not offer visa sponsorship).
- High School Diploma or equivalent; or certification in interpreting or related fields.
