About the role

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, flux/trend analysis, and reporting.
  • Oversee and manage the general ledger accounting process, ensuring accuracy and completeness across all accounts.
  • Maintain and improve processes for accruals, reserves, intercompany transactions, and other liabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Partner with FP&A and business leaders to provide insights into financial results and support forecasting and budgeting.
  • Oversee account reconciliations, cutoff procedures, and discrepancy resolution; drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Support internal and external audits related to general ledger and corporate accounting.
  • Update and maintain internal controls over general ledger accounting processes.
  • Drive process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to a team of accounting professionals.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Accounting or Chief Accounting Officer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 1–3 years of experience leading or managing accounting staff
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, and close processes
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle Fusion preferred) and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or supply‑chain–intensive environments
  • Prior audit experience (public accounting or internal audit)
  • Experience supporting SOX compliance and working within a controls‑driven environment
  • Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional initiatives or systems/process improvements.
