About the role
- Directs activities and manages experienced Quality Inspection professionals in the execution of inspection tasks to ensure adherence to established department, organization and customer specification parameters.
- Leads the development of inspection plans and manages inspector workloads to ensure effective use of resources.
- Manages the maintenance of inspection logs and the preparation of inspection reports, technical reports and presentations to document results so that performance problems can be identified and resolved.
- Determines the appropriate methods and sequences to perform inspections to ensure that the process is efficient and effective.
- Delivers feedback on quality issues from inspection fields and monitors corrective action and results to ensure continuous improvement and quality achievement.
- Coaches inspection specialists and technicians to ensure that the skills and performance of employees meet the organization's needs.
- Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to inspect arriving, in-process and completed products for conformance to engineering requirements.
- Uses a variety of measuring devices, testing equipment's, and statistical control processes.
- Performs in-process, final bench, and product feature inspections.
- Inspects actual products on the floor and online.
- Performs First Article Inspections (FIA) and conformity inspections.
- Raises notifications of non-conformance, quarantines non-conforming product and, when approved to do so, provides disposition.
Requirements
- Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR 9 years of relevant experience is required.
- Work to AS / ISO standards
- Manage the maintenance of equipment including calibration, inspection, cleaning, repairing, software/hardware updates, vendor engagement, etc.
- Identify and recommend creative ways to enhance existing test practices.
- To meet government and federal law program requirements which requires U.S. citizen status
- Prior Supervisory experience preferred.
- FAA, QMS-Audit (AS9100), PPAP experience preferred.
- Customer facing experience preferred.
- Experience with SAP preferred.
