About the role
- Own the full R&D lifecycle: from data discovery and feature engineering to model selection, validation, and deployment in production environments
- Collaborate deeply with stakeholders to define and solve high-impact business problems
- Apply a rigorous scientific mindset to test hypotheses, validate model performance, and ensure robust, scalable solutions
- Bridge research and production by deploying models that are integrated into Guidewire’s fintech/insurtech ecosystem
- Mentor and collaborate with cross-functional teams to build AI and industry fluency across the organization
Requirements
- 7-8+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist in the private sector
- Expertise in Python/R, SQL, and modern ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, XGBoost, Scikit-learn)
- Experience with cloud deployment (AWS/GCP/Azure) and MLOps practices
- Familiarity with the insurance or finance industry
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field (degree preferred or equivalent experience)
