About the role
- Managing ongoing projects within Coding Business Services department.
- Pricing edits within billing system.
- Charge build processes.
- Working with database managers.
- Medical coding related tasks and projects.
- Performing in-depth analysis of current billing and coding activity.
- Performing reviews of documentation related to correct coding, services performed, and diagnosis selection.
- Providing feedback, supporting documentation and suggestions or assistance in implementing accurate and efficient charge capture.
- Engaging in project management activities for assigned new initiatives.
- Acting as a liaison to providers, clinical associates, and clinical departments related to coding initiatives.
- Assisting department liaisons with coding and compliance issues.
- Serving as a coding education resource for department leaders and/or providers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education or advanced degree)
- 4+ years of experience in medical coding
- AAPC CPC coding certification
- Knowledge of IDX, Cerner, and AS400 softwares
- Medical coding knowledge
- Master’s Degree in related field such as Finance, Accounting, Nursing and Health Care Administration.
