About the role

  • Lead and oversee core medical operations processes for the Oncology therapeutic area, including medical planning, execution tracking, and performance monitoring.
  • Drive consistency, rigor, and best practices across Oncology Medical Affairs operations.
  • Own and coordinate the annual medical planning and budgeting process, ensuring alignment to enterprise requirements.
  • Monitor execution against plans and budgets, proactively identifying risks, trade‑offs, and optimization opportunities.
  • Support resource planning, capacity assessments, and prioritization across the Oncology medical organization.
  • Shape organizational ways of working and identify creative solutions to operational challenges and resourcing constraints.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to simplify workflows, enhance transparency, and improve speed and quality of execution.
  • Manage Operations Associate Directors, offshore project management resources, and third-party outsourcing needs.
  • Lead roll-out and pull-through of US Medical Affairs-wide operational initiatives or tools; lead additional strategic initiatives, process improvement changes, and other strategic projects and programs as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to established policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, Public Health, or related field.
  • Eight or more years of experience in Medical Affairs operations, business operations, or PMO within pharma/biotech.
  • Three or more years of experience owning annual planning and budgeting processes for a Medical or cross‑functional organization (including tracking vs. plan).
  • Three or more years of experience establishing and running execution tracking and performance management (e.g., KPIs, dashboards, operating reviews).
  • Three or more years of direct management experience of teams and/or matrixed resources, including vendors or outsourced project management support.
