About the role
- Managing the collaboration between internal teams and external consultants to ensure timely task completion, promoting accountability, teamwork, and motivation.
- Facilitates decision-making by building consensus, navigating challenges, and overcoming interpersonal obstacles. Leads the implementation of team decisions to avoid decision delays.
- Demonstrates inclusivity and integrity within the project team and across the organization.
- Advocates for the team during difficult situations.
- Applies project planning frameworks to manage programs and contribute to portfolio management.
- Directly leads medium to large projects with nominal or medium complexity, developing medium complexity timelines for project completion, with alternative plans in place if needed.
- Establish and monitor project budgets, ensuring alignment with approved financial targets and timelines.
- Setup and maintain project scope within approved baseline budget, using negotiations and adjustments where necessary.
- Manage the triple constraints (schedule, scope, budget) to achieve consistent, predictable outcomes.
- Develop and maintain a risk registry, assess and mitigate business and technical risks, and work with project sponsors to manage the risk plan.
- Utilize risk management tools to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, adjusting resources and budgets as needed.
- Anticipate risks to project success and develop proactive strategies to minimize impact.
- Collaborate with product management to translate customer needs into project requirements.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to business partners, executives, and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of project status and urgency.
- Present creative solutions to project challenges while conveying the appropriate level of expertise to executives.
- Facilitate program retrospectives, gather insights, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Cultivate a culture that embraces change and innovation, positioning uncertainty as an opportunity for growth.
- Support team members in adapting to change and manage the impact of change initiatives.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to address risks and disruptions caused by changes.
- Plan and implement change management strategies, assess impacts, and adjust plans as necessary.
- Set up and launch Agile projects following Domain-Driven Design principles (e.g., SPADO).
- Adapt to new domains of expertise as required and contribute to technical release scheduling.
- Utilize tools such as Azure DevOps and Jira to track and manage projects.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a related field of study (i.e. business, computer science, communications, etc.)
- Membership in PMI and PMP certification actively in progress
- 5-8 years proven track record of experience in a project management role with preference given to those with data management and/or agile delivery experience
- Solid understanding of Project Management and SDLC methodologies
