About the role
- Open and monitor import processes, request the necessary payments, and settle accounts for completed processes with the company's Finance department
- Prepare purchase estimates for departments and recommend the best shipping and consolidation strategies to preserve the collection's markup/margin
- Quote and contract the optimal freight cost versus service level, preserving the originally planned budget
- Stay informed about trade legislation, updating relevant areas about aspects that may affect the import process
- Open, monitor, instruct, and follow shipments abroad and the nationalization process; handle customs clearance together with customs brokers; coordinate import releases with regulatory authorities and schedule deliveries with carriers and the logistics team
- Identify opportunities to increase the imported product's share within the company by pursuing better costs while maintaining delivery service levels
- Maintain full focus on the brands and their demands. Track brand calendars for both raw materials and finished goods; provide ongoing follow-up with the brand to build trust in our operations; equip them with information on opportunities to improve service levels and/or increase margin for the company so they can make informed decisions regarding receipt and subsequent sale
- Maintain interfaces with customs brokers, freight forwarders, other suppliers, the tax and finance teams, PCP (Production Planning and Control), and the brands
- Be responsible for lead time and service levels of imported deliveries to the brands, producing regular reports on process progress
- Manage the courier account and its budget, ensuring the tracking spreadsheet is completed by the relevant areas, as well as opening and monitoring payment requests to service providers
Requirements
- Intermediate knowledge: Excel and PowerPoint
- Advanced proficiency in English
- Experience in negotiations
- Experience with formal import processes and courier shipments; solid knowledge of customs legislation; ability to interact with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
