About the role

  • Manage the software development team’s people, focusing on mentoring and developing team members through regular 1:1 sessions and frequent feedback
  • Manage workflow: use methods to measure capacity and establish predictability of deliveries
  • Responsible for facilitating ceremonies that are part of the squad’s adopted methodology such as Plannings, Refinements, Retrospectives, Impediment removal, etc.
  • Manage technical debt via Lean practices: ensure anticipation of initiatives and impacts on platform operations
  • Evolve, together with the team, working methods aligned with agile methodologies and digital culture
  • Hold sessions with all types of stakeholders to present recent results, gather feedback/insights and align on product roadmap
  • Contribute to defining the product/squad objectives and key metrics, frequently communicating these results to stakeholders (OKRs)
  • Participate in architectural decisions to ensure the system supports user growth without compromising performance and availability
  • Monitor team and system health metrics (DORA Metrics: Deployment Frequency, Lead Time for Changes, MTTR, Change Failure Rate)

Requirements

  • Experience leading software development teams for digital products
  • Experience in software development prior to transitioning to management (knowledge of programming languages, paradigms and software design best practices)
  • Knowledge of facilitation and problem-solving techniques, as well as support models and bug prioritization
  • Proficiency with agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
  • Continuous delivery mindset (Lean) and Kaizen culture
  • Knowledge of Systems Architecture and the DevSecOps development lifecycle
  • Strong background in software quality and observability to anticipate risks
  • Familiarity with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and FinOps
  • Ability to synthesize information and extract conclusions and action items from abstract conversations or "working meetings"
  • Strong organization skills for delivery and priority management and time management
  • Systems thinking for decision-making and root cause analysis
  • Nice to have: Experience with large-scale B2C or B2B products, understanding modern software life cycles and obsolescence (technical debt); knowledge of mobile platforms; ability to delegate and empower Tech Leads with business, technical, and support context, acting as an advisor/coach rather than an approver; contextual presence without micromanagement, using strategic check-ins and operational health metrics to guide platform decisions; ability to assess effort versus impact in ambiguous contexts; cross-functional influence with peers and stakeholders through data-driven arguments, trade-offs and long-term vision.
