💰 $105,000 - $138,500 per year
About the role
- Client-facing Project Manager on GLX Operations and Regulatory Team; service customers and manage portfolio of projects
- Work hip-to-hip with the Operations Manager, Head of Code Enforcement, Head of Research & Regulatory, Permit Coordinators, and Permit Operations Team
- Conduct regulatory research and diligence for commercial/residential development, Public Works/Utility Projects, EV Charging, Minor Land Use/Entitlements, and internal Operational/Development initiatives
- Communicate with local governments to confirm research findings and gather additional information on processes
- Gather supporting documents (internally and from clients), complete applications, and submit them to local and state government agencies (typically building/construction permits)
- Frequently follow up on submitted applications and manage/communicate timelines to get approvals as soon as possible
- Manage and train Permit Coordinators to support project milestones
- Work on ad-hoc or internal projects with Head of Research & Regulatory and collaborate across teams
- Key deliverables: accurate and timely submissions, thorough research with reliable sources, established government relationships, and positive client relationships
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience in construction permitting, entitlements, legal filings, zoning, land use, business licensing, government affairs, or a combination of these
- Degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Real Estate Development, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or other research-focused program preferred, but not required
- Paralegal Certs/CPM/RE License/Contractors License + experience in place of degree
- Deep understanding of construction / development cycles (for commercial and residential)
- Ability to serve as a technical resource for sales calls
- Ability to read, analyze and translate/summarize government and legal code/statutes - including Building Code, Land Use/Zoning, Development Ordinances, Code Enforcement Policies
- Excellent written and interpersonal skills - not afraid to make phone calls, negotiate and over-communicate both internally and externally with clients and jurisdictions
- Independently motivated, but willing to work with a team
- Strong organizational skills and extreme attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Initiative and bias for action, on-time delivery, and operational excellence
- Honest and direct without any ego
- Ability to utilize, or quickly learn to use, multiple software applications including our own platform, Asana, Notion, G-Suite, UpCode
