About the role

  • Responsible for configuring, modifying, testing, and maintaining Epic and other clinical applications.
  • Building collaborative relationships with hospital leadership, clinical department users, and other corporate departments to facilitate system usage and acceptance.
  • Handling complex build and configuration tasks, resolving advanced issues, and providing support to ensure reliable application system availability and performance.
  • Designing, verifying, documenting, and refactoring software configurations.
  • Investigating and resolving application issues, developing and executing test plans, evaluating design options.
  • Ensuring incidents are handled according to procedures.
  • Supporting clinical staff in accurately documenting patient care and treatments within EpicCare for inpatient encounters.
  • Analyzing and optimizing clinical workflows by ensuring that Epic EHR features align with the healthcare organization’s clinical processes.
  • Configuring and customizing the Epic system to meet the needs of clinical workflows.
  • Monitoring system performance, managing upgrades, and ensuring regular maintenance and updates.
  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting issues that arise in the Epic EHR system.
  • Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA, by enforcing security protocols and monitoring data privacy.
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives, staying up-to-date with the latest Epic features and healthcare technology trends.
  • Providing training to clinical staff and users on how to effectively use Epic.
  • Developing and maintaining reports to track clinical outcomes, performance metrics, and patient care quality.

Requirements

  • Epic certification in at least one module or the ability to obtain certification within six months of hire
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Related Field
  • 1-3 years Experience in clinical, operational, or financial workflows relevant to the supported module.
  • 1-3 years Experience in healthcare IT or clinical operations.
  • Advanced knowledge - Understanding of Epic's tools, functionalities, and integration processes
  • Certification - Epic Certification Required where available - will train to be certified
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
