About the role
- Responsible for the development and implementation of plant safety/health programs
- Provide on-site leadership, guidance and assistance to plant staff
- Develop, implement and manage safety and health programs to ensure compliance
- Review all safety policies annually for compliance with current regulations
- Develop and implement environmental programs to assure compliance
- Perform periodic safety and environmental audits
- Develop recommendations for improvement
- Manage environmental and safety reporting systems for incident reporting
Requirements
- Good understanding of federal, state and local safety and workers’ compensation laws
- BS in safety or environmental science, engineering or related field recommended
- Experience (3-7 years) in coordinating, managing and developing Environmental Health and Safety programs
- Experience (3 years) in industrial safety, health protection and regulatory compliance
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office and database programs
- Self-starter, good people skills, strong personal leadership, organizational skills, oral and written communication skills
- Good understanding of federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations
