About the role

  • Understand client objectives and remain attentive and responsive to evolving client needs
  • Demonstrate knowledge of market data and access to resources to respond quickly to new developments in clients’ businesses
  • Oversee support for tasks related to managed inventory to improve client understanding, increase touchpoints within the client group, and drive sales results
  • Understand Grainger’s value proposition by delivering solutions that increase profitable sales volume
  • Develop account-penetration strategies, including regular reviews of key customers’ business activities to maximize sales

Requirements

  • More than 2 years’ experience in outside direct sales (or equivalent experience in inside sales or marketing)
  • Sales forecasting, opportunity management, and account planning
  • Process discipline and the ability to align planning objectives with a pipeline-development process to grow market revenue
  • Ability to use sales processes to uncover customer objections and concerns and determine the appropriate solution
  • High school diploma or GED (post-secondary education preferred)
