About the role
- Work collaboratively with a small team to lead tours of historic sites
- Participate in planning, development, and presentation of educational programs
- Coordinate craft and skill demonstrations
- Collect admission fees and visitor statistics
- Promote events and manage gift shop sales
- Maintain general order of visitor facilities
- Required to work weekends
- Occasional travel and off-site work may be required
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Ability to learn large amounts of information quickly
- Ability to confidently speak and work with a range of audiences
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small workplace team
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry moderate loads
- Basic understanding of the history of Alberta
- Interest in historical interpretation
- Communication, creativity, and organizational skills
- Post-secondary education and/or experience in relevant fields is an asset
- Customer service experience is an asset
- Experience with children and seniors is an asset
- Fluency in French and/or Indigenous languages is an asset
