About the role
- Responsible for championing digital transformation and representing the Ministry within a product team.
- Responsible for overall product strategy, ministry stakeholders, long-term vision for the product, and ministry processes and procedures to meet the business needs.
- Coordinates between the product team and program area staff to deliver technology solutions that enable cross-sector collaboration in strategic initiatives.
- Supports the implementation of new legislation and other priority projects through new digital services.
- Conducts user-centric research to improve client and employee experiences and makes recommendations to senior leadership.
- Champions agile and digital methodologies, provides status reports, monitors product progress metrics, and leads product demonstrations to various stakeholders.
- Leads internal stakeholder engagement to gather input for collaborative projects and corporate processes.
Requirements
- A University degree in a related field (e.g. Commerce, Business, Public Administration, Economics, Political Science, Statistics, Technology) plus 4 years progressively related experience.
- Required experience: Product Ownership/Management.
- Supporting digital delivery of services in either the public or private sector.
- Agile Scrum methodologies, including process mapping, organizational analysis, benefits and risk management.
- Equivalencies may be considered: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of 1 year of education for 1 year of experience, or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
- The following will be considered assets: Knowledge of mental health and addiction service legislation and regulations.
- Experience working in health care or social services.
- Project Management skills.
- Experience managing through influence (this position has no direct reports but will be required to lead teams).
