About the role
- Provide expert procurement policy advice to the Ministry and Government of Alberta
- Develop and maintain business practices, processes, and templates for construction and consulting services procurement
- Implement and support innovative procurement strategies aligned with trade agreement obligations
- Collaborate closely with ASHC staff, project teams, and external consultants to support consistent procurement and contracting practices
- Lead, mentor, train, and develop procurement team members
- Oversee documentation and ensure procurements comply with Canadian Free Trade Agreement, New West Partnership Trade Agreement, Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, Agreement on Government Procurement
Requirements
- University graduation in a related field such as business, engineering, or architecture or a professional designation as a Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP)
- 4 years progressively responsible supervisory experience or equivalent
- Proven track record of developing stakeholder buy-in
- Familiarity with standard construction industry systems and formats
- Knowledge of the principles of contract law and competitive bidding law
- Knowledge and experience of contracts and contracting methods used to procure architectural, engineering, and construction services
- Knowledge of process management and business analysis
- Demonstrated teamwork skills and ability to work effectively under pressure
- Experience building, leading, and managing teams
