About the role

  • Provide expert procurement policy advice to the Ministry and Government of Alberta
  • Develop and maintain business practices, processes, and templates for construction and consulting services procurement
  • Implement and support innovative procurement strategies aligned with trade agreement obligations
  • Collaborate closely with ASHC staff, project teams, and external consultants to support consistent procurement and contracting practices
  • Lead, mentor, train, and develop procurement team members
  • Oversee documentation and ensure procurements comply with Canadian Free Trade Agreement, New West Partnership Trade Agreement, Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, Agreement on Government Procurement

Requirements

  • University graduation in a related field such as business, engineering, or architecture or a professional designation as a Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP)
  • 4 years progressively responsible supervisory experience or equivalent
  • Proven track record of developing stakeholder buy-in
  • Familiarity with standard construction industry systems and formats
  • Knowledge of the principles of contract law and competitive bidding law
  • Knowledge and experience of contracts and contracting methods used to procure architectural, engineering, and construction services
  • Knowledge of process management and business analysis
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills and ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Experience building, leading, and managing teams
