About the role

  • Conduct desk and field audits and reviews of low and medium complexity
  • Perform audit planning, sample selection, develop audit programs
  • Complete substantive audit testing
  • Ensure returns are reported accurately under the Acts and Regulations administered
  • Identify potential regulatory or policy issues
  • Provide comprehensive analysis and detailed recommendations to senior management

Requirements

  • Chartered Professional Accountant designation preferred
  • University graduation in commerce, accounting, finance, business administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in audit, the oil and gas industry, accounting, royalty, or tax administration
  • Knowledge of Alberta's corporate tax, commodity tax or royalty regimes
  • Experience auditing tax or royalty programs
  • Proficiency with data analytics tools and techniques
