About the role

  • Join a team that contributes to the development and maintenance of business standards, solutions and practices
  • Support a coordinated approach to assessing the viability of process improvements
  • Lead and consults on the development, review and modernizations of the Branch’s processes and procedures
  • Develop and maintain a process and procedures registry
  • Support the development and maintenance of Branch business intelligence solutions including reports and dashboards
  • Provide business analysis services to Recovery Branch staff at all levels
  • Support or cover on other projects led by the team
  • Provide support to internal and external projects in accordance with project management principles, standards, and best practices
  • May be required to work in the Provincial Emergency Coordination Centre or Provincial Recovery Coordination Centre during emergencies

Requirements

  • University degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Finance or related
  • 2 years related experience performing business analysis in areas such as change management, business intelligence reporting, business process mapping, logic modelling and organizational development
  • Experience working with business process mapping standards such as BPMN 2.0
  • Strong proficiency and experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI and database queries tools and methods
  • Knowledge of project management best practices, including the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) as defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI)
  • Solid understanding of both waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Previous experience with capturing and documenting business process maps using standard techniques and tools such as MS Visio
  • Previous experience with procedure documentation
  • Strong oral and written communication skills - report writing, listening, conflict management, meeting facilitation, negotiating, networking, relationship building, and teamwork.
  • Effective decision making skills, including analyzing, fact finding, good judgement, problem solving, risk assessment and innovative thinking
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Visio, SharePoint, Excel
