About the role
- Act as the subject matter expert for your market and understand how your product fits within it
- Project coordination, market research and needs analysis
- Research customers' business practices and needs relative to new integrations, products, features and modules
- Work directly with 3rd party partners to scope and implement API integrations to support the expansion of our Partner Network
- Propose solutions based on customer input, surveys, imaginative interpretation of user needs, market needs analysis, and known technological solutions
- Review all relevant sources of information, including analysts and industry thought leaders
- Keep in close contact with key customers and prospective key customers on the leading edge of the industry, including site visits
- Monitor competitors’ activities to determine possible future directions
- Participate in key sales situations, including contributing to RFP responses, and maintain a close relationship with sales team(s)
- Define, drive, and maintain the product roadmap and backlog
- Work with development, project management, marketing, and other applicable functions to prepare release objectives, milestones and schedules for all phases of product development and launch
- Assist with the prioritization of initial feature development and ongoing change requests
- Translate high level objectives from clients and partners into measurable functional requirements
- Work closely with Business Analysts and Interaction Designers to ensure designs meet requirements and customer needs
- Act as quarterback of the team and business owner for solution
- Work with Sales and Marketing to define the value proposition of offerings and how best to position them in the market to succeed
- Manage/update/communicate evolving requirements and feature development throughout the project life cycle
Requirements
- 3+ years in a product management or business analysis or project management role
- Bachelor’s degree
- Exposure to SaaS and ecommerce product development
- Experience implementing out-of-the-box API integrations with 3rd party platforms
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time, quality and budget
- Experience writing software/hardware functional requirements in agile environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong business acumen
- Knowledge/experience of various software development methods
- Ability to communicate with different personality types and roles (e.g., development, sales, support, customer, market analyst, executive) effectively and build strong relationships
- Comprehensive understanding of usability and interaction design
- Strong understanding of current web application design
