About the role
- Establish the enterprise data governance framework, roadmap, and policies.
- Define data governance objectives, priorities, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Operationalize governance policies, standards, and best practices across the business.
- Establish governance structures, roles, and responsibilities to support effective data stewardship and accountability.
- Ensure adherence to audit and control requirements and minimize data-related risks.
- Work with data owners, stewards, IT, and business leaders to align data initiatives with business objectives.
- Responsible for the identification of data quality rules and metrics, collaborating with necessary teams to remediate and address root causes.
- Establish data dictionaries, glossaries, and cataloging tools to facilitate metadata discovery and documentation.
- Promote understanding and proper use of data across the organization.
- Develop, hire, and manage Data Governance team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in information management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
- Strong background in data management, data quality, data security, and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated functional understanding of key processes creating or consuming data and the ability to determine the interrelationships across the enterprise.
- Ability to influence, lead cross-functional teams, and manage complex programs.
- Understanding of data architecture, databases, and data governance tools.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving to address data challenges.
- CDMP or CIMP certification highly desired.
- Excellent communication to explain complex data concepts to diverse audiences.
