About the role

  • Oversee disciplinary management of engineers across frontend, backend, mobile, and embedded secure elements

  • Work with and report to the CTO to drive technological strategy and vision while ensuring business objectives are met
  • Own the hiring process end-to-end including sourcing and onboarding
  • Implement and oversee training, mentoring, and professional development initiatives
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and address personnel issues
  • Optimize team workflows, processes, and tools to improve productivity, communication, and collaboration
  • Allocate team members and resources effectively to meet project goals
  • Proactively identify and resolve interpersonal or workflow conflicts

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a software engineer; recent hands-on experience is strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience managing or leading engineering teams, with a track record of building and scaling high-performing teams.
  • Strong technical background; capable of earning respect and credibility with engineering teams through knowledge and experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; able to motivate, empower, and inspire team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster an inclusive team culture that values diversity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with talent development, conducting performance reviews, and giving effective feedback.
  • Sound judgment in project and resource management; able to prioritize effectively and deliver results.
  • Skilled in process improvement and implementing best practices in software development and team operations.
  • Adept at handling conflict resolution and managing change in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience collaborating closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Preferred: Experience scaling teams in a fast-growing startup or dynamic environment.
  • Preferred: Background in Agile methodologies or similar modern software development practices.
  • Preferred: Experience with recruitment, onboarding, and strategies for employee engagement and retention.
