About the role

  • Provides strategic direction and oversight for cards, payments, and related products and services
  • Drives the achievement of organizational OKRs and growth goals by completing projects on schedule
  • Champions innovation in cards and payments, ensuring the credit union remains a leader in payments and card technology
  • Manages and optimizes payment systems (ACH, wire transfers, bill pay, mobile payments, FedNow, RTP, Zelle, cards/disputes, and emerging technologies)
  • Continuously evaluates and enhances operational processes, systems, and workflows to improve efficiency
  • Ensures all payment and deposit activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices
  • Builds and leads a high-performing team by providing guidance, mentorship, and opportunities for professional growth
  • Collaborates with executives, cross-functional teams, and business partners to ensure alignment and successful execution of strategic initiatives
  • Actively participates in organizational strategic planning, proactively shaping new strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or better in Business Administration or related field
  • Minimum of 7+ years of leadership experience in deposit operations, product management, payments, information technology, or related roles within the financial services industry
  • Strong knowledge of cards, payment systems, and industry regulations
  • Proficient in credit union systems including Meridian Link, Visa DPS, and Symitar
  • Significant system/technical experience desired
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, systems, product development, and project management
  • Proven track record of driving operational efficiency and process improvement initiatives
  • Sound understanding of risk management principles and compliance requirements
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Internet, and Email.
