About the role
- Support case investigations, assessments, and management planning through notetaking, task assignments, and case documentation.
- Coordinate follow-up actions and monitor ongoing cases to ensure interventions are implemented and adjusted as needed.
- Track all incoming reports of concerns and threats, screening of incidents, and full case assessments for annual tracking purposes.
- Develop educational materials and outreach initiatives to promote awareness of the threat assessment process and a culture of shared responsibility.
- Stay current on emerging trends, research, and best practices in threat assessment and campus safety.
- Collect, analyze, and report program metrics to evaluate effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare reports for the Director’s briefings for senior leadership and relevant governance bodies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, criminal justice, social work, public administration, higher education, or a related field.
- Demonstrated 3-5 years of experience coordinating or supporting a multi-disciplinary team such as a threat assessment, behavioral intervention, risk management, or campus safety team.
- Knowledge of behavioral threat assessment principles and multidisciplinary team processes.
- Strong understanding of confidentiality, privacy laws, and ethical decision-making in higher education.
- Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and written communication skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain discretion, and manage sensitive information.
- Master’s degree in a related field (Preferred Qualification).
- Formal training or certification in behavioral threat assessment (e.g., ATAP CTM) (Preferred Qualification).
- Experience working in a higher education setting (Preferred Qualification).
- Experience with case management systems or incident reporting platforms (Preferred Qualification).
- Familiarity with trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and equity-centered practices (Preferred Qualification).
