💰 $47,586 - $70,000 per year
About the role
- support three Tech & Society centers: the Knight-Georgetown Institute (KGI); the Center for Digital Ethics (CDE); and the Institute for Technology Law & Policy (ITLP)
- play an integral role in day-to-day functions and future planning
- ensuring that each center’s operations and administrative needs are met
- initiating and overseeing processes related to people operations, internal and external communications, event management, budgeting, administration, procurement, and contracts
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 2-3 years of experience in operations, finance, human resources, administration, or other relevant field
- Commitment to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB)
- Patience, diligence and resourcefulness in navigating complex bureaucratic processes
- Familiarity running procurement and contracting processes
- Experience with basic budgeting and reconciliation of expenses
- Experience in human resources management, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding and performance management
- Proficiency in Google Suite products, spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets), project management, and collaborative platforms; and a quick learning curve to adapt to new programs
- Ability to analyze various sources of data, identify and derive key metrics, and propose solutions based on these data
- Ability to manage - and be both organized and flexible - in a complex, multi-faced environment that requires continuous monitoring of priorities across three distinct centers
- Exceptional communications skills, to include maintenance of confidentiality
