About the role

  • Financial Data Oversight: Manage the collection and organization of financial data, ensuring accuracy and completeness for comprehensive reporting.
  • Journal Entry Supervision: Oversee the preparation and posting of journal entries related to financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Reconciliation Leadership: Lead the reconciliation of general ledger accounts, promptly identifying and resolving discrepancies to maintain financial integrity.
  • Reporting Management: Direct the preparation of periodic financial reports, ensuring accuracy and providing insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Audit Coordination: Collaborate with internal and external auditors by providing necessary documentation and information related to financial records and transactions.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to regulatory and internal compliance requirements related to record-keeping and financial reporting.
  • Process Improvement Initiatives: Identify and implement initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of record keeping and financial reporting processes.

Requirements

  • Commerce Graduate / Postgraduate
  • Relevant years of experience in managing Insurance RTR processes
  • Experience in working with an insurance client
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Experience with accounting software, like SAP, Blackline, etc.
  • Computer literacy, MS Excel in particular (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and succinctly articulate issues to senior management
  • Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
  • Self-starter, with ability to work under own initiative
  • Strong time management skills
  • Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information
