About the role
- Serve as a Warranty Financial Analyst providing warranty forecasting, accounting, audit/SOX compliance and financial analyses
- Perform Warranty COE General Ledger functions and assure accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with GAAP
- Prepare manual journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and reserve adequacy studies
- Prepare warranty accrual rates using US GAAP accepted actuarial methodologies
- Maintain financial data in the warranty system
- Identify, interpret and analyze potential accounting risks and issues
- Research and analyze accounting transactions and contracts
- Identify and execute internal controls, SOX compliance and financial procedures
- Partner with Finance to determine accounting implications of transactions and perform analytical analyses for business decisions
- Assist with internal and external financial reporting, analyze consolidated results, draft SEC documents and management review reports
- Evaluate current accounting practices and policies and drive continuous improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting
- CPA required
- Minimum 2 years' experience in accounting or controllership
- Knowledge and experience working enterprise accounting system (SAP and/or Oracle Hyperion) (preferred)
- Warranty or product costing accounting experience (preferred)
- Experience working within Automotive or Manufacturing (preferred)
- Experience with warranty forecasting, accounting, audit/SOX compliance and financial analyses
- Ability to prepare manual journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and reserve adequacy studies
- Ability to prepare warranty accrual rates using US GAAP accepted actuarial methodologies
- Maintain financial data in warranty systems
- Research and analyze accounting transactions and contracts

- Partner with Finance on accounting implications and analytical analyses
- Assist with internal and external financial reporting, including drafting SEC documents and management review reports
- Must be able to work hybrid and report to the GM Global Technical Center - Champion Service Operations office three times per week or as dictated by the business
- Relocation not eligible; candidate responsible for relocation costs
