About the role

  • Develop, maintain, and release supplier requirements CG documents, and manage process documentation within Stages to ensure clarity, compliance, and alignment across teams.
  • Establish record retention guidelines and provide permanent storage locations in VMEC Outsourced Software and Calibration site within Global Docs.
  • Champion knowledge sharing by designing and delivering impactful training sessions that empower engineering teams to meet compliance requirements for outsourced software and calibration processes.
  • Provide strategic guidance and conduct thorough audits of engineering teams during sourcing and supplier management activities, ensuring adherence to VMEC standards and driving continuous improvement.
  • Build strong partnerships with purchasing and legal teams to support contract negotiations and evolve commercial requirement definitions, fostering alignment between technical and business objectives.
  • Drive integration between in-house development workflows and outsourced supplier processes, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and quality across all deliverables.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams beyond VMEC to establish, promote, and institutionalize best practices for purchased software and calibration processes, influencing enterprise-wide standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in software and calibration sourcing, supplier management, and process governance, with a proven track record of delivering results in complex, cross-functional environments.
  • Strong understanding of VMEC processes and outsourced software/calibration lifecycle, with the ability to translate technical requirements into actionable strategies.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, foster strong partnerships with peers, and influence process improvements through collaboration, consensus-building, and thought leadership.
  • Exceptional communication, documentation, and training skills, enabling clear alignment across engineering, purchasing, and legal teams.
  • Strong analytical, auditing, and problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Master’s degree or relevant certifications in systems engineering, software process management, or related disciplines (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with CGs, Stages documentation, and G-Docs record retention systems, demonstrating expertise in compliance and governance frameworks (preferred).
  • Familiarity with automotive or large-scale software and calibration development environments, with the ability to integrate best practices across diverse teams (preferred).
