About the role
- Serve as the global technical lead for physical security initiatives, overseeing a range of complex technical projects across the enterprise.
- Lead the triage and resolution of business issues and data challenges, driving remediation efforts with precision.
- Function as the primary technical liaison between the business community and IT teams, including Engineering, Project Delivery, and Operations, to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Develop a deep understanding of business processes, industry best practices, and supporting technologies to inform solution design.
- Champion the deployment of technical best practices, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Maintain working knowledge of supplier systems and GM IT platforms relevant to physical security.
- Provide technical training, guidance, and mentorship to peers within the physical security domain.
- Manage IT customer satisfaction by effectively communicating and aligning expectations with deliverables.
- Collaborate with vendors and IT development teams to ensure projects are delivered in full compliance with technical specifications.
- Actively contribute to strategic planning processes by helping shape, understand, and prioritize key business outcomes.
- Participate in all phases of the IT Systems Development Lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business and technical goals.
- Develop comprehensive system requirements and end-to-end testing strategies and plans to validate solution integrity.
- Support evolving business needs and drive deliverables to closure with a focus on quality and timeliness.
- Perform data mining and analysis to uncover insights and support informed decision making.
Requirements
- 5+ years of domain systems engineering experience, including global system maintenance and upgrades.
- 5+ years of technical expertise in enterprise software systems, debugging, and support.
- Strong understanding of network fundamentals: OSI and TCP/IP modules, IP addressing, subnetting, routing, switching, and DNS.
- Experience with routers, switches, firewalls, access points, and Virtual Private Network (VPN).
- Understanding video surveillance systems and related hardware/software.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal and client-facing skills with the ability to manage expectations and explain technical concepts clearly.
- Proven ability to integrate and support software solutions across new and existing systems.
- Proactive in resolving software issues related to code quality, security, and user experience.
- Skilled in providing technical guidance, mentorship, and training to team members.
- Ensures compliance with physical security software standards.
- Solid technical knowledge of Windows, Ubuntu, SQL, PostgreSQL, IIS, Nginx, and general cloud architecture.
- Ability to interpret and apply API documentation for integration and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with the physical security ecosystem is a plus.
- Collaborative mindset with experience working alongside program managers, analysts, and IT/business teams.
- Experienced in Agile, Iterative, and Waterfall project methodologies using Jira.
