About the role
- Primary contact for monitoring, compliance and improving performance of OPTN member institutions
- Lead the task team for patient safety and compliance case reviews
- Responsible for managing case intake, triage, tracking, reviews and resolutions for the Site Visit Leads/Investigators and Site Visit Coordinators
- Monitor organ transplant policies, investigate potential violations, and ensure adherence to federal regulations
- Conduct audits, analyze complex data, manage compliance inquiries, and provide guidance to transplant centers
- Manage quality improvement and case investigations and routinely report progress to relevant stakeholders and task leads
- Create regular reports summarizing case activity, status, and resolutions
- Perform Case Triage and assess cases for severity
- Document roles and responsibilities of involved parties in the case process
- Monitor cases for trends and patterns of non-compliance
- Provide recommendations for improving policies, processes, or training
- Draft final reports summarizing findings and follow-up actions
Requirements
- At least 6 years in compliance, project management, quality improvement, auditing, or investigations, often within healthcare or regulatory environments
- Healthcare Service or Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) agency experience preferred
- Bachelors degree is required
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulations
- Analytic skills: ability to use independent judgment to determine risk
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal
- Leadership capabilities
- Strong organizational skills to manage schedules and audit logistics.
- Ability to travel to member organizations throughout the country (up to 15% of the time)
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
