About the role

  • Provide application support for numerous business applications used by DOE’s Corporate Business Systems (14,000+ users)
  • Design and develop robust software architecture and scalable solutions
  • Build complex applications from the ground up using C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, and SQL Server
  • Enhance and maintain existing software applications and develop custom solutions to improve efficiency and integration
  • Collaborate with DBAs to ensure reliable and efficient data service availability
  • Develop interactive reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions in collaboration with Business Analysts and stakeholders
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation throughout SDLC phases
  • Assist customer support in troubleshooting and resolving software issues and defects
  • Investigate and implement solutions for identified problems and performance bottlenecks

Requirements

  • US Citizenship required
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Business, or related discipline with 5 years of increasingly responsible and relevant experience in .Net development and SQL Server
  • Without a degree: AA/AS - 8+ years; HS - 9+ years (experience accepted in lieu of degree)
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Proficiency in C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, SQL Server, SSRS, GitHub
  • Experience with JavaScript, jQuery, HTML/CSS, Power BI
  • Expertise in development and support of web-based applications, service-oriented architecture, and database systems
  • Experience across full SDLC (design, testing, deployment, documentation, support)
  • Strong knowledge of relational database design; ability to collaborate with DBAs
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented analysis and design
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE clearance and pass government background screening
  • Desired: Experience with ServiceNow, ITIL v3/v4 certification, previous DOE experience, UI frameworks, Microsoft DevOps, MCSD certification
