About the role

  • Regional Sales Director leads a team to execute sales goals across a defined region.
  • Focus on expanding access to GeneDx’s genetic testing solutions within this critical patient population (General Pediatrics).
  • Lead a field-based team, mentoring Regional Account Executives and working with the National Sales Director to implement strategic initiatives.
  • Spend significant time in the field to coach and guide the team; monitor performance and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Manage the region’s budget and analyze performance data to inform resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Training, Market Access, Client Experience, and Enterprise teams to align field efforts.
  • Lead onboarding and training for regional hires; maintain product and market knowledge.
  • Promote GeneDx’s culture and adaptability; travel as needed (40–60%).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sciences or related field.
  • 8–10 years’ experience in a relevant industry/commercial environment as a sales professional and sales leader.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in, the Diagnostics/Genetics/Genomics industry strongly preferred
  • Experience within complex selling environments with payer reimbursement knowledge and ability to prioritize and align organizational goals and objectives with selling processes
  • Must live within the region they support
  • Must have a valid driver license and a vehicle to use for work on a daily basis
  • Ability to quickly learn technical and disease state information
  • Excels in a rapidly changing, competitive environment
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel 40–60%, including possibly nights or weekends to attend conferences, meetings, special events, etc.
