About the role
- Provide expertise in Workday Financials Modules - specifically Workday Billing, Procurement, Payables, Assets and General Ledger
- Manage system architecture of the Workday Financial system
- Provide support for Workday Security and other functional areas
- Build product definition and leverage technical skills to drive towards the right solution
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle
- Lead in design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate engineering quality
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of data and applications through analysis, coding, documentation, and problem resolution
- Analyze and translate business and functional specifications and change requests into technical specifications
- Work with other teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in Workday tools and technologies
- Share and experiment with recent technologies and participate in internal and external technology communities
- Mentor other engineers and consistently share best practices
- Support finance business transformation from traditional IT to a tech organization with engineering excellence as its mission
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software development experience within Workday Ecosystem - focused on Financials
- 3+ years of experience with architecture and design
- 2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
- Experience with assessing current solutions and provide best practices
- Experience with Finance Transformation projects
- Knowledge of Workday development tools (Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Studio, Workday Report Writer, BIRT)
- Experience with designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining solutions
- Expert at creating complex calculated fields
- Experience with developing systems that are scalable, resilient, and highly available
- Advanced understanding of monitoring concepts and tooling
- Experience with Agile methods and Azure
- Experience architecting and designing new and current systems
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication)
- Ability to prioritize workload and execute tasks independently, providing timely follow-up and resolution
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
