About the role

  • Join Second Front Systems (2F), a national-security focused company building the Game Warden platform
  • Own UX for deployment, configuration, and accreditation workflows, simplifying complex processes into guided steps
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and subject matter experts (including compliance and security teams) to translate platform deployment and accreditation needs into intuitive designs
  • Plan and execute user research (interviews, usability testing, surveys) with commercial software providers and use insights to inform design
  • Develop user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and polished visual designs to communicate solutions to stakeholders and engineering
  • Incorporate feedback from user testing and technical constraints to continuously improve the experience
  • Work within and contribute to the design system to ensure consistency and scalability
  • Partner with product management and engineering to define features and ensure designs are implemented to specification
  • Champion user-centered design principles throughout the product development lifecycle

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship required due to government contract requirements
  • Must reside in one of the approved hiring hubs: DC/Maryland/Virginia; Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, NC; Denver/Colorado Springs, CO; Dallas/Fort Worth, TX
  • 3-4+ years of professional experience as a Product Designer, UX Designer, or UI Designer for complex web applications or SaaS products
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating design process, problem-solving, and delivery of user-centered solutions for complex workflows
  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (Figma preferred; Sketch, Adobe XD or similar)
  • Experience conducting user research (interviews, usability testing, surveys) and translating findings into actionable design insights
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, interaction design, and visual design
  • Ability to understand technical constraints and collaborate effectively with engineering teams
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for mission to strengthen national security
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
  • Preferred: experience designing for technical users or B2B enterprise software; familiarity with cloud deployments (AWS, GCP, Azure), CI/CD, containerization (Kubernetes, Docker); understanding of government compliance frameworks (ATO, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53); experience with design systems
