About the role

  • Cultivate long-term strategic goals for BI Analysts and Data Engineering to review and communicate recommendations to drive critical decisions.
  • Prepare and manage department business plans, staffing projections, and budgets.
  • Lead from the front to establish a data-driven culture that delivers analytic excellence.
  • Develop and execute a multi-year strategy for Business Intelligence and Performance Monitoring for Innovation, Claims, Sales and Service.
  • Review and approve testing, deployment and maintenance of data structures, views, reports, and visualizations.
  • Solve complex business problems and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and business trends.
  • Partner with senior leadership and other departments to identify business needs and translate them into data analytics solutions.

Requirements

  • BA/BS required in Computer Science, Statistics, Analytics, Finance, Operations Research, Economics, Mathematics OR 10+ years of experience in a data-centric role (business intelligence, reporting, data engineering/analysis, etc.)
  • 5+ years’ experience leading data analytics, reporting, or business intelligence function
  • P&C Insurance experience (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Power Automate and data management software
  • Proficient with data modeling techniques and languages such as SQL, Python, R
  • Demonstrated ability to apply project/program management concepts – specifically in Agile and/or Lean methodologies
  • Ability to effectively coach technical leaders and adapt to new technologies quickly
  • Solid understanding of how to create stable, scalable solutions to business challenges using data.
