About the role

  • Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systems.
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle
  • Participate in design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization
  • Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, C# or other object-oriented languages, SQL, and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of Azure tools and services
  • Define, create and support reusable application components/patterns from a business and technology perspective
  • Build product definition and leverage your technical skills to drive towards the right solution
  • Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams
  • Design, Develop and implement solutions to manage data products, data contracts and data dictionaries
  • Mentor other engineers

Requirements

  • Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems
  • Experience developing, scaling and supporting open-source applications such as Datahub, Soda, DBT, etc.
  • Experience with programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with GIT and version control concepts including branching, merging, and conflict resolution
  • Experience with design, deployment, scaling, troubleshooting and performance tuning of Elastic Search is a plus
  • Experience with Open-Source Data Governance solutions like Datahub is a plus
  • Experience with container orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and various Azure tools and services
  • Experience with relational and non-relational database technologies (SQL, Oracle, CosmosDB, Postgres, NoSQL etc.)
  • Experience in the complete software development life cycle and knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication)
  • Experience with Load test tooling (Gatling or equivalent)
  • Advanced understanding of Data Observability concepts and tools such as Grafana, Titan, Loki, Prometheus or equivalents
  • Proven understanding and experience with microservices oriented architecture and extensible REST APIs and GraphQL
  • Advanced understanding of DevOps concepts including Azure DevOps framework and tools
  • Understanding and experience working with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, Gradle, Artifactory, Microsoft Azure DevOps
  • Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code
  • Advanced shell scripting skills
  • Experience specifically with React (Clean Architecture) or Angular and GIT
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
