About the role

  • Act as the Lead Technical Engineer for solar inverter service issues, owning problem resolution from initial diagnosis through closure.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex inverter failures using field data, logs, measurements, and schematics.
  • Lead technical investigations for recurring and critical field issues; define and validate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Provide technical direction and mentoring to service engineers, enabling faster and more effective issue resolution.
  • Configure and customize inverter parameters and system settings to meet project and site‑specific requirements.
  • Interface with product engineering, BOP, controls, firmware, and component teams to resolve system‑level technical issues.
  • Participate in lab, factory, and field testing to validate service fixes, design changes, and product improvements.
  • Serve as the technical representative in customer meetings, service reviews, and technical discussions.
  • Support on‑site and remote field activities including commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Document technical findings, root cause analysis, and lessons learned, drive closure through structured tracking.
  • Ensure service engineering activities comply with safety, quality, and engineering standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement by feeding field learnings into product design, service processes, and reliability initiatives.
  • Collaborate with global and cross‑functional teams to meet service response, quality, and customer satisfaction targets.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university
  • 8 years of experience in solar inverter service engineering, technical support, OR power electronics troubleshooting
  • 4 years of hands-on experience diagnosing and resolving solar inverter field issues
  • Willingness to travel and provide on-site field support as required up to 25% (domestic and international)
