About the role

  • lead technical aspects of specific projects related to the design, analysis, and optimization of mechanical components across the gas power product portfolio
  • conduct and oversee advanced thermal, stress, modal, and fatigue analysis of components within gas turbines and powerplant accessory spaces
  • plan and execute testing and validation activities for new and existing designs, analyzing complex post-test data to drive design improvements
  • develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including complex drawings, layouts, and diagrams, ensuring adherence to engineering standards
  • serve as a key technical focal point for new qualifications, providing expertise and support to both GE Vernova (GEV) and supplier production teams
  • lead root cause analysis (RCA) efforts for mechanical issues and develop effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to improve product reliability, quality, and performance
  • collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, services) to optimize designs and resolve technical challenges
  • take technical ownership for specific mechanical hardware components or sub-systems, applying and championing mechanical principles and best practices
  • drive execution of technical tasks within larger projects and actively contribute to process improvement initiatives
  • develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including technical experts and global sites, to facilitate project success
  • ensure rigorous adherence to R&D processes, manage technical milestones, and participate actively in peer validation and design reviews

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Process, Chemical, or Aeronautical Engineering
  • a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Mechanical or Fluids Engineering, with demonstrated experience in design, analysis, or quality within industrial products
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (desired)
  • demonstrated ability to lead technical problem-solving and drive solutions
  • proven ability to lead technical tasks or small engineering projects
  • strong command of advanced analytical tools such as ANSYS (Fluent, Mechanical, FEA), NX (CAD/CAE), Python, MATLAB, VBA, or similar platforms
  • solid understanding of gas turbine, steam turbine, generator, or aeroderivative component design and operating principles
  • familiarity with manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM)
  • exposure to AI/ML applications in engineering
  • strong focus on safety, quality, and process rigor
  • established project management skills
