Effectively and efficiently testing and commissioning of substation equipment, ensuring that agreed work is carried out in accordance with the pre-set time scales and budgets.
Execution of day-to-day commissioning activities to successfully achieve on time delivery of assigned projects.
Responsible for the preparation, creation and issue of site documentation including but not limited to RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statement), NCR’s (Non-conformance Report), TQ’s (Technical Queries) in accordance with approved processes and procedures.
Communicating site non-compliances and or deviations to the Site Manager & Project Engineer.
Reports to the Site Manager / Project Manager and Commissioning Manager.
Enacting the role of LV Authorised Person in accordance with requirements of the GE LV Safe System of Work (LVSSOW) procedures.
Comply with the GE code of ethics.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering / HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Experience knowledge of Substation Protection Systems and equipment
Testing & Commissioning of HV and LV Switchgear and Equipment
Fault finding on protections schemes and equipment
Knowledge and experience of Construction and Field Services site work
Experience in the testing and commissioning of HV Power systems equipment
Experience in activities related to the testing and validation of an equipment, facility or plant in accordance with the design objectives or specifications for operational use
Experience in SCADA systems as well as technical skills using PC/DS Agile / Aview software
Experience in communication with Protection and control system as well 3rd party IEDs system integration
Site experience, working at height and working in a construction environment
Knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
Ability to communicate effectively, both internally and externally
Demonstrated experience in testing and Commissioning of substation equipment (Generation, transmission and distribution)
Knowledge and experience of working in a HV Substation environment
Knowledge and experience of working on Offshore Windfarm environments
Good knowledge and experience of IEC 61850 protocol, Modbus, IEC 101, IEC 104 and IEC103
Knowledge & experience of GE Micom and Multilin products will be an added advantage.
Knowledge and experience working with various test equipment such as Omicron, Sverker, Programmable and Megger will be advantageous.
