About the role
- Lead the design and architecture of highly available, scalable, and secure cloud solutions across various cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) to meet GE Healthcare's evolving business needs
- Develop and evangelize cloud architecture standards, patterns, and best practices, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and security policies
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, guiding them in the implementation of cloud-native solutions, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles
- Evaluate new cloud technologies, services, and tools, making recommendations for their adoption to improve performance, cost-efficiency, and operational excellence
- Collaborate with product management, security, operations, and development teams to translate business requirements into robust and innovative cloud architectures
- Oversee the performance, cost optimization, and security posture of cloud environments, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues
- Drive the migration of on-premise applications and data to cloud platforms, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum benefit
- Establish and enforce governance frameworks for cloud resource provisioning, access management, and cost control
- Document architectural designs, technical specifications, and operational procedures for cloud solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- 8+ years of progressive experience in IT with at least 5 years dedicated to cloud architecture and engineering roles
- Extensive hands-on experience designing and implementing complex solutions on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), with strong proficiency in another
- Deep understanding of cloud computing concepts, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, serverless architectures, microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and data storage solutions
- Proven expertise in infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager) and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong knowledge of networking principles, security best practices, and compliance requirements in cloud environments
- Experience with hybrid cloud deployments and strategies
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
