About the role
- Lead engineering design execution for turbomachinery mechanical components across multiple Defense & Systems programs
- Execute and review design, analysis, and evaluation work using sound engineering principles
- Provide technical direction and mentoring to an engineering team with 8+ direct reports
- Influence strategy for your area of responsibility, including resource planning
- Stay current on industry trends in turbomachinery and mechanical component design
- Use strong engineering judgment to make decisions on complex technical topics
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects with moderate complexity
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
- At least 8 years of engineering experience, ideally including substantial mechanical design work
- Requires U.S. citizenship for security clearance
- Master’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college (desired)
- Expertise in turbomachinery components engineering design
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex technical problems
- Established project management skills in a technical environment
