About the role

  • Lead engineering design execution for turbomachinery mechanical components across multiple Defense & Systems programs
  • Execute and review design, analysis, and evaluation work using sound engineering principles
  • Provide technical direction and mentoring to an engineering team with 8+ direct reports
  • Influence strategy for your area of responsibility, including resource planning
  • Stay current on industry trends in turbomachinery and mechanical component design
  • Use strong engineering judgment to make decisions on complex technical topics
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects with moderate complexity

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • At least 8 years of engineering experience, ideally including substantial mechanical design work
  • Requires U.S. citizenship for security clearance
  • Master’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college (desired)
  • Expertise in turbomachinery components engineering design
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex technical problems
  • Established project management skills in a technical environment
