About the role
- Provide manufacturing support and guidance to the Future of Flight Mechanical Design team
- Ensure manufacturability of new designs for GE Aerospace’s next generation of products
- Apply engineering concepts to design and drafting to eliminate future manufacturing issues
- Lead and influence through a changing product mix
- Contribute to technology roadmaps in design boards
- Drive Flight Deck culture
- Manage complex manufacturing issues within functional areas of expertise
- Be involved in short and long-term planning to ensure on-time delivery of new technologies
- Provide technical direction to a large design team for the RISE program
- Provide manufacturing consultation on manufacturing practices and standards
- Assist design engineers and manufacturing engineers in aligning drawing requirements with best practices
- Collaborate with Design and Systems Engineering teams, production, and global sites
- Participate in technical, program, and design reviews
- Serve as a recognized expert in defining the state of the art in own technical specialty for new products introduction activity
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Good level of written and oral communication skills in English
- 10+ additional years of relevant Manufacturing and / or Engineering experience
- Experience in development hardware ownership and manufacturing of high-precision, turbomachinery components
- Strong aptitude in mechanical design
- Ability to review drawings
- Understand Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing and Product Definition
- Including reading and interpreting drawings
