About the role
- Be responsible for the new-make manufacture of combustors and structures parts across GE Aerospace's engine lines.
- Solve manufacturing and producibility challenges while driving excellence through engineering.
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles.
- Collaborate with engineers from multiple disciplines and communicate with commodity and industry experts.
- Improve manufacturability and technical robustness of assigned components through engineering analysis.
- Lead technical projects with moderate complexity and provide support for vendor qualification and hardware delivery.
- Provide informal guidance to less experienced team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a closely related engineering field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a relevant engineering role.
- Previous experience in design of aerospace components.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, especially of aerospace components.
- Flexible and friendly approach to working in teams.
- Experience with ANSYS and NX.
- Certification in ASME Y14.5 or practical experience with GD&T.
- Interest in being a self-starter with a passion for problem solving and driving solutions.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to document, plan, and execute programs.
- Established project management skills.
- Fundamental understanding of turbomachinery system design.
