About the role

  • Be responsible for the new-make manufacture of combustors and structures parts across GE Aerospace's engine lines.
  • Solve manufacturing and producibility challenges while driving excellence through engineering.
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles.
  • Collaborate with engineers from multiple disciplines and communicate with commodity and industry experts.
  • Improve manufacturability and technical robustness of assigned components through engineering analysis.
  • Lead technical projects with moderate complexity and provide support for vendor qualification and hardware delivery.
  • Provide informal guidance to less experienced team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a closely related engineering field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a relevant engineering role.
  • Previous experience in design of aerospace components.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, especially of aerospace components.
  • Flexible and friendly approach to working in teams.
  • Experience with ANSYS and NX.
  • Certification in ASME Y14.5 or practical experience with GD&T.
  • Interest in being a self-starter with a passion for problem solving and driving solutions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to document, plan, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
  • Fundamental understanding of turbomachinery system design.
