About the role
- Lead a team of diagnostics engineers providing exceptional customer experience to operators of commercial aircraft engines
- Identify and hire talented individual contributors, including acting as a liaison for our early engineering development program (Edison Program)
- Develop existing members of the staff
- Maintain a positive working environment, balancing the needs of the business and advocating for team needs
- Provide input on 3-5 year strategic plans on the future in predictive aircraft maintenance
- Manage medium scale projects with accountability
- Drive adoption of FLIGHT DECK (Lean) principles within the team and the organization
- Collaborate across the greater Fleet Support organization to ensure seamless delivery of products
- Interpret simple internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes or services
Requirements
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and 5+ years of technical leadership experience (or a minimum high school diploma / GED with an additional 4+ years of technical leadership experience).
- Background in aviation or aerospace, with a strong appreciation for the industry’s dynamics and customer expectations
- Proven customer relationship skills, with a track record of building trust, managing complex stakeholders, and representing the organization with credibility
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills and executive presence, able to clearly convey complex topics and influence at all levels of an organization
- Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities, inspiring collaboration, accountability, and high performance across diverse teams
- Demonstrated commitment to developing talent, including coaching, mentoring, and building future leaders
- Analytical problem-solving ability, with experience diagnosing issues, evaluating options, and driving to effective, data-informed solutions
- Proven experience leading programs and projects, from concept through execution, delivering on time and within scope
- Ability to document, plan, position, and successfully execute initiatives and programs, ensuring clarity of objectives, milestones, and outcomes
- Established project management skills, including risk management, prioritization, and clear progress tracking
