About the role

  • Responsible for functional, business, and broader company objectives related to the successful execution of Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC) component design across all Defense and Systems programs
  • Lead the CMC design engineering team with 8+ direct reports
  • Responsible for activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions, and systems
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles
  • Manage a small to medium team of senior professionals as well as others
  • Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility
  • Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services
  • Make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering
  • Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' opinions on particular topics

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • At least 8 additional years' experience in an engineering position
  • This role requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
  • Established project management skills
  • Expertise in turbomachinery components design
