About the role
- Manage supplier activities to ensure the quality of jet engine components while working closely with Sourcing, Engineering and Manufacturing teams
- Include supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, performance monitoring, and assisting key suppliers towards industrial standards of excellence
- Manage assigned suppliers to assure capability and processes to deliver high quality product
- Provide technical guidance to suppliers to assure product and process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications
- Conduct audits to assure that suppliers have effective process control
- Work with suppliers to improve process capability and drive process improvement
- Drive suppliers to perform Continuous Improvement projects to reduce top issue trends
- Lead root cause analysis (RCCA) and implement robust corrective action to prevent recurrence
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing, Quality or Sourcing)
- Ability and willingness to travel (domestic and international) to support business needs, as required (estimated 25%)
- Demonstrated technical aptitude and passion for quality
- Strong background in interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience and training in Root Cause Analysis tools including 8D, 5-Whys, etc.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Established project management skills to direct cross-functional work
