About the role
- Responsible for the operation and maintenance of Gilchrist clinical centers and administrative offices
- Assures that the building’s systems and equipment run smoothly to provide comfort and meet the needs of patients, families, staff and volunteers
- Responds to repair and maintenance requests within the requested time
- Maintain preventative maintenance program; documents all inspections, maintenance and repairs performed
- Diagnose infrastructural issues and repair or schedule a vendor if needed
- Participates in discussions and planning with management concerning equipment acquisitions and construction or renovation of plant facilities
- Ensure projects being managed internally and through vendors are on schedule
- Reports progress and setbacks to the Facility Manager
- Works with operational leaders to assure locations are prepared for weather-related events
- Assures that safety rounds are completed daily and maintains documentation for Safety Committee
- Manage inventory of facility supplies, equipment, and furniture
- Adhere to safety guidelines, local building codes, and regulations during installation, maintenance, and repair activities
- Follow on-call schedule to ensure 24 x 7 service availability.
Requirements
- High School diploma required
- 5 years of facilities maintenance experience required
- Technical training and/or prior experience in mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems
- Minor electrical, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and general maintenance experience required
- Experience in a healthcare setting/environment preferred
- Advanced knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, lighting, boilers, chilled water systems, HVAC systems and general building operations
- Ability to troubleshoot facility infrastructure issues
- Skill in oral and written communication
- Ability to problem solve and make decisions
- Ability to identify, analyze and evaluate problems and provide solutions compatible with HOB goals
- Ability to set individual and departmental goals and establish methods to meet those goals.
