About the role

  • Enable adoption and sustainability of Software Asset Management (SAM) capabilities across the enterprise, supporting continuity and compliance of software usage and licensing.
  • Safeguard GapTech and the broader business from financial, operational, and reputational risks associated with software non-compliance by ensuring accurate visibility into software entitlements and consumption.
  • Minimize risk and business disruption by proactively managing software license utilization, guiding teams on compliant use of software products, and communicating remediation paths when exceptions arise.
  • Leverage SAM tools and data sources to analyze entitlement vs. consumption across both packaged and SaaS software, ensuring licensing compliance and cost optimization.
  • Collaborate with software product owners to define, implement, and continuously improve point-of-installation validation processes that enforce compliance before deployment.
  • Proactively monitor and manage installations of packaged software in partnership with IT Operations and Product teams to avoid over-consumption and mitigate audit exposure.
  • Integrate SaaS subscription tracking and governance to prevent over-assignment or underutilization of licenses, reducing the likelihood of true-up or unplanned renewal costs.
  • Partner closely with the SAM Senior Manager to evaluate and prioritize compliance and risk exposure using a defined risk-versus-impact framework.
  • Ensure contract, entitlement, and procurement data in SAM systems are accurate, complete, and current to support trustworthy compliance reporting and vendor negotiations.
  • Coordinate and support software license audits and reviews, providing accurate data, maintaining documentation of entitlements, and managing audit response processes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Finance, Legal, and Product teams to establish and enforce license compliance controls and to inform future sourcing decisions.
  • Identify optimization opportunities through research, data analysis, and trend monitoring, driving continuous improvement in SAM processes and tool utilization.
  • Deliver clear communication and reporting on compliance posture, trends, and risks to leadership, promoting transparency and accountability across the software lifecycle.
